Law Of Large Numbers

This law was first publicly made known by Jacob Bernoulli, a noted Swiss mathematician, in the early 1700s. The law states, that "In any chance event, when the event happens repeatedly, the actual results will tend to be the calculated, or planned, results." In essence, this means that repeated actions, over time, will, almost without exception, produce the results we seek. ~ Dr Dr. Gary Goodman
My boss often told me, 'It's The Law of Large Numbers..." What is the Law of Large Number? This means that I just need to keep calling, keep talking to suspects, keep telling and keep spreading my products, my service to people. The chances of rejection and appointments can be half-half, nobody knows. But as long as I keep doing, as the number gets larger, I will finally get an 'Yes'. This seems easy and any idiot will understand, it's just like tossing a coin. In the end, you just do not need to have any special 'qualification' to do such kind of work. All you need is consistency and Just Do It. It can become habitual and 'seasonal'!
Well, it does sound very logical, the law of large numbers. It not only applies to insurance, it also applies to any other sales. No wonder a salespeople who stutter can always be better than a highly qualified graduate salespeople. It is all in the mind and attitude of the salespeople whether they are willing to meet the world of large numbers. Even the uneducated can practice this fact. My mother always like to play slots machine at Genting Casino. She is going there again soon. I can never have patience to sit in front of the slot machine, feeding it with money and waiting for my luck to appear. My mother is different. She is patient and she is consistent. For the whole day, she can sit in front of the Jackpot. I often heard her saying, "Win but lose all already." That is the Law of Large Numbers, it is probability at work. If you toss the coin one hundred times, there would be one time you finally get the head.
